Summertime Getaways: Our Must-Do List for Quarantine Travel

Richie & I were SO excited to be back in Newport for the first time since we got engaged in November 2018…even if it was underneath a face mask. Although we were anxious about what to expect, our experience overall was pretty great!

Here’s our list of ‘must-do’s’ for your quarantine summer travels:

MASKS ARE A MUST. One: masks save lives. Two: they’re required to wear in public in most states, restaurants and stores. We recommend bringing extras if possible & never go anywhere without one!

HAND SANITIZER IS A MUST. Whether it’s liquid or handy-dandy sanitized wipes, you’ll be very happy to have some in your back pocket!

RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST. Fact: Newport restaurants required reservations & most all were fully booked a week ahead of our trip. Our best advice: no matter where you’re traveling to, call at least 2 weeks ahead of your travel date to secure a table. Worst case, you can always call to cancel!

HAVING A PLAN IS A MUST. Look ahead to see what establishments are open and what precautions they’re taking for your safety. Reservations or extra safety steps may be required on your end & you won’t want to miss out on the fun!

HAVING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IS A MUST. It’s a new world out there. Remember to check the bad attitude at the door & have patience with those around you. Everyone’s just doing their best! *Especially restaurant staff and other essential workers :)
