4th of July Bark: a Red, White and Blue-fect Recipe

All in favor of summer BBQs and 4th of July fireworks, say “I”.

It’s officially s u m m e r and that means pool parties and cookouts galore! The only downside of both? WHAT TO BRING TO THE PARTY. I’m all in for some fun in the sun, but when it comes to bringing a photo-worthy guest dish, I’ll be the first to admit guilt of bringing the pre-packaged cookies. Thanks to @popsugar & @jetblue, that's all about to change!

On my recent flight home from Jax, I saw a commercial for this delicious treat and knew it would be a hit at our upcoming trip to the lake house.

What you’ll need: 3 bags of preferred type of chocolate (I went with white chocolate for the 4th of July theme!) + colored chocolates + sprinkles/ edible decor.

How to make: melt your base chocolate & pour onto a baking sheet covered in parchment paper. Next, melt the colored chocolate pieces & pour small amounts sporadically onto your base. With a knife or toothpick, run vertically and horizontally through the colored spots, making fun swirls and waves. Top off your work with sprinkles or other edible decorations and place in the fridge for a couple of hours. Once set, break into a range of medium to large chunks to enjoy!

The verdict from my tasters: the bark was amazing & this plate is proof (almost gone)! If you’re looking for other fun & simple recipes to try out, check-out popsuger (they have a ton of sweet ideas!).

See you at the dessert table!
