Why I LOVE SoulCycle

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy - Elle Woods

& we all know that happy people just don't shoot their husbands...they just don't. Which brings me to the amazing workout craze that is SoulCycle.

When I first moved to NYC, I couldn't help but notice that people don't just go for a run in the park or hit the local gym for their endorphin-boosting experience. They also attend boutique group fitness classes.

Being that I had taken a few cycling classes during my college years & enjoyed it, when I was invited to attend a SoulCycle class with one of my first city friends, I went for it. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.

When I walked through those bright yellow trimmed doors, the energy hit me immediately. The upbeat music, the enthusiastic staff, the scent of grapefruit & walls lined with Soul-branded Lululemon. I couldn't wait to 'clip in' to my bike.

I was warned by my friend that our instructor Becca was an 11 out of 10 on the energetic scale. My friend was absolutely right - Becca brought such a positive vibe to the room that every rider felt. Between her encouragement during the entire 45-minute class, her killer playlist & all the sweat in between - I was hooked.

Some people, included the company themselves, refer to Soul as a 'cult, pack, tribe, community, addictive, gang & posse'. I'm here to confirm all of the above & so much more!

SoulCycle gave me confidence in myself. It gave me a place to strive for greatness - to go beyond my limits & push myself to go further (theoretically, of course, since we're talking about stationary bikes). Not only have I gained strength and happiness, but I've also gained a second family who shares in my SC obsession.

Ever since that first ride, I've been clipping in weekly. I quickly road my way up the ranks of rows and confidently sit front & center. I wouldn't trade that feeling for anything.
