A Weekend in Boston
Good morning Baltimore Boston!
If you’ve never been to this quant city filled with an abundance of history on the East Coast, this is your sign to go! It was both Richie & I’s first trip to Boston — we visited my aunt who recently moved to the area and planned it perfectly around the Red Sox v Yankees game (bonus: it was also Father’s Day weekend + my parents made the trip too!).
Must-do’s in Boston:
VISIT THE HARBOR. The famous Boston Harbor lived up to its name! It was one of our very first stops & the site of our first activity: the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. This walking tour and live reenactment (perfect for kids!) is a great opportunity to tour a full-scale replica of an 18th-century ship & see artifacts from one of the most patriotic events in American history.
WALK THE PUBLIC GARDEN. This smaller version of NYC’s central park is filled with dark parks, baseball fields and patriotic statues galore! If you’ve got some extra time on your hands, be sure to check out the adorable swan gondolas.
TOUR HISTORIC SITES. Boston does not fall shy of patriot history sites to tour - you’ll find these along thee ‘Freedom Trail’. From Faneuil Hall to the Old South Meeting House to Paul Revere’s house — you will not be disappointed. PS check out this bar: the only place in the world you can have a cold Sam Adams, across from ‘cold’ Sam Adams :)
DINNER & DRINKS. Ready for a few food recommendations? Whether it’s brunch, lunch or dinner — these spots are a 10/10 on the YUM-o-meter (& personal reccs. from a few locals): Atlantic Fish Co., Blossom Bar, Burro Bar South End, Citizen Public House, Paramount, Salty Pig, Sonsie.
CANNOLIS AT MIKE’S. Enough said.
VISIT FENWAY PARK. Wow. What a ballpark. If you’re a baseball fan (& honestly, even if you’re not) Fenway is a site to see! I absolutely LOVE that almost nothing has changed since this ballpark opened in 1912. Schedule a tour to see the park from behind the scenes + learn a few fun facts. PS pro tip: grab a Fenway Frank, just do it.
Wishing you the best visit in Mark Wahlberg’s hometown!
XO, Nicole
