Hawaii Packing Tip: Why I'll be Doinig this for ALL Future Travel
Drop everything you’re doing and get ready for a travel tip that’s about to change your packing game for all future trips!
Say goodbye to the old paper & pen to-do list — and HELLO to an elevated visual packing list. In an effort to help eliminate the last minute crazies of trying to remember all the items that need to make it in my bag before take off AND help reduce my tendency to over pack, I created THIS google sheet to help me visualize my entire Hawaii wardrobe.
Let me tell you, game changer.
I’ve never had an easier time packing for a week-long vacation than this trip! I not only knew what outfits I wanted to pack, but also knew the exact shoes, accessories and jewelry to bring for each day. I created my list by day + excursion to be sure I could visualize what I wanted to wear while we’re island hoping & in less than 30 minutes, my luggage was PACKED (mind boggling).
Sound a little overwhelming to find time to create a visual list? Here’s my step by step recommendation:
ONE. Use this travel tip for vacations you’re planning in the future — i.e. at least 1 month out! This will give you enough time to create a visual list overtime!
TWO. Start with a list of days + excursions in excel or google sheets to help you understand the type of clothing you need to pack — swimsuits, workout attire, etc.
THREE. Now for the fun part, adding in photos for each day! Pro tip: start with items you already own — google search images or drop in photos of your own. Once you can visualize what you DO and DON’T have, you can make a few online purchases to fill in the blanks :)
Next to do’s: prep toiletries + pack my airplane bag *which sounds easy, but for an 11.5 hour non-stop flight will likely be verrrrrrrry full.
