YAY SPORTS! A Girlfriend's Guide to Surviving Football Season

Are you ready for some football?!

Well ladies, it's that time of the year again: sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, draft parties, tailgating andddddd FOOTBALL every. single. Sunday.

Oh how fast a year goes by! Don't get me wrong, I definitely love a good tailgate & enjoy watching games, I'm just not a fan of my boyfriend being on an emotional roller coaster ride depending on how great or not so great his fantasy team did. Truth be told, I'm sure I'm not alone on this :) So bring on the wins, bring on the losses, & let's make this season a great one!

The girlfriend's guide:

SHOW YOUR TEAM SPIRIT. One of my favorite things about football season is dressing for the occasion! Showing my team spirit with my attire makes me feel 100% into the game. Depending where you live, the start of the season also brings a drop in temperature. Say hello to a new wardrobe filled with cute team-colored sweaters, over-sized jerseys, and spirited accessories! LET'S GO TEAM!

HOST THE VIEW PARTY. I LOVE having our friends over to watch the big game because it means I don't have to leave the comfort of my home. Get creative! Decorate your apartment or home with team colored tassels like these, make + name your own custom team cocktails, & don't forget your game day M&M's!

LEARN A FEW TERMS. The basics: each team's offense has 4 chances aka downs to move the ball 10 yards, extra points after a touchdown are worth 1-2 points, a tackle on the quarterback is known as a sack, any defender can cause a fumble when knocking the ball from the opposing team player's grasp, if you're caught off-sides you get pushed back 5 yards, if you're caught holding you get penalized 5 yards & of course, a touchdown is worth 6 points.
