Major Life Update: MEET JAKE!
HOLY GUACAMOLE, WE GOT A DOG!
Oh my goodness, y’all I am still in complete shock and disbelief that Richie & I welcomed a little bundle of fur into our lives!!!!
It’s been four amazing weeks since we brought Jake home and oh how sweet life has become. From the moment I wake up until the second I fall asleep, I am so incredibly grateful for him.
TWO FACTS:
I’ve wanted a dog my ENTIRE life, so to say I feel like I’m living a dream would be a complete understatement.
Richie & I have been dreaming of welcoming a chocolate lab into our future home ever since high school! We’ve even had the name Jake picked out for all these years!
How we got here…
A lot of you have asked what made us get a puppy knee deep in the season of wedding planning - my honest answer: I have no idea. Richie has always told me that there was ‘no way in hell’ we were going to get a puppy while living in an apartment in the city. His words have been playing in my head like a record on repeat for years, so when Richie out of the blue starting browsing Labrador breeders I was very skeptical. Months went by and he did more & more research. I have to admit, I was impressed with his interest, but didn’t get my hopes up…yet. Sunday, May 5th rolls around & Richie asks if I wanted to go look at puppies at a local breeder. Um…YES x one thousand! We walked in and saw the cutest little pup with the prettiest green eyes & we were smitten. Jake stole our hearts instantly and just like that, we became pup parents!
Yup, it happened just. like. that.
Needless to say we were 0% prepared and headed straight for PetSmart. Even with all the whirl wind of crazy that he’s brought into our lives, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. We are so in love with Jake and cannot wait to share our journey with him with you all!
